Examples for the connection of the PD/OP on the ET 200S
The PD/OP is connected to the PROFIBUS-DP interface of the DP master, but
can be connected just as well to any other station in the DP network, including
the ET 200S.

The PD is directly connected to the ET 200S (you don’t add the ET 200S to the
PROFIBUS network until later).
Note: Depending on the DP interface (active/passive), a special setting is
required in STEP 7 (see Section 4.4).

The PD can also be a direct DP node, although a spur line (e.g. PD connecting
cable) is not permissible with a transmission rate greater than 1.5 Mbaud. This
requires an active spur line.
